Obituary

Nancy Diane Nides of Garland, Texas passed away on December 30, 2020 at young age of 66 years old.  She was born on September 04, 1954 to Raymond Jackson and Mary Elizabeth (Roberts) Jackson.

In 1978 both Diane and Tony were employed by E-Systems in Garland, Texas.  Diane was an Executive Administrator working in a different building from Tony.  Tony wanted to sign-up for one of the companies employee activity clubs and was provided a number to call and register.  The company sponsor of the activity just happened to be Diane's boss and when I called to sign-up it was Diane who answered the phone.  When I heard Diane's beautiful alto voice, I said that I want to know more about this lady.  I would learn latter that she also liked my voice and wanted to meet me. About two months later she received an offer for a promotion to a higher level position which would be located in my building.  Diane came to my building for her final interview which was conducted in the lobby of the building because special accesses were required to enter any part of the building other than the lobby.  I came out to the lobby to get a soda and a snack, started chatting with security guard on duty and Diane recognized my voice said she wanted to get up from the interview and walk over start a conversation but she needed the job and continued the interview.  As I was talking to the Guard she caught my eye and I stopped the conversation with the Guard and listened to the lady answer her interview questions and I then I recognized that beautiful alto voice.  Luckily I could enter Diane's area, so shortly after she moved into the new program offices in my building, I would visit with her when her boss was out of the office because the boss did not want her bothered.  Tony always brought Diane a cold can of Dr Pepper and a small bag of Fritos.  Diane and I started dating and as they say the rest is history.  She rebuffed my first request for a date but Tony persevered and Diane married Tony on 15 November 1980.

Together Diane with her husband Tony as a team could accomplish anything they wanted to.  It was amazing how perfectly they complimented each other, like hand in glove. Diane was married for over 40 wonderful and interesting years to Anthony (Tony) S. Nides. Diane was an incurable romantic and loved to view the 1954 movie White Christmas.  Viewing White Christmas every December along with a big bowel of popcorn (had to be white) was an annual tradition Diane and Tony. Diane was a loving and supportive Christian wife who loved, cared and loved spoiling her Husband Tony. Diane was the inspiration for everything Tony did and accomplished.  Diane believed that there was absolutely nothing that Tony could not do and expressed that very often. Diane loved to cook and Tony loved to eat. She always prepared appetizing and delicious meals and loved to entertain.

Diane loves the Lord and is a saved Christian.  She was a member of the "Discovery" Sunday school class and the "Pacesetters" seniors' fellowship at First Baptist Church in Garland. Diane also loved music especially church music and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Garland seniors Praise Singers Choir and the associated Happy Box Band that played music on Cigar Box Guitars.  It was always a really big thrill for Diane when she had an opportunity to perform with the Happy Box Band. Diane and Tony shared a deep love and appreciation for 1950's Rock-N-Roll music especially the ballads.  Diane and Tony are members of the Friday Night Dance Party audience that listens to the audience all request show on WYNR1390.com every Friday night.

Diane was an Executive Administrative Assistant with E-Systems from 09 June 1975 to 15 April 1995 and involved in the development of very sophisticated technology.  Diane was an accomplished craft person and entered pieces of her work into competition.  Her focus was primarily on Cross Stich, Needle Point, Knitting and Crocheting.  Any craft endeavor gave Diane great satisfaction and fulfillment.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents and older brother Gerald Jackson.  She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband Tony; brother, Greg Jackson, Stepson Nicholas S. Nides; and two nephews.
