Kayla Rose Lumpkins was born on January 7th, 2004 to Danny and Renee Lumpkins.  She passed away September 9, 2022.  She was preceded in death by her "Nana," Meshay Greer.  Kayla is survived by her mother, Renee Lumpkins and her brother, Chase Lumpkins; her father, Danny Lumpkins, and her Bonus Mom, Laura Haught and Laura's children: Jeffery Dodd, William Dodd, & Abbie Dodd; her PawPaw, Roy Lumpkins; her MawMaw, Patricia Geiger; her Uncle Larry & Aunt Amy Lumpkins, and cousins Elijah, Windie, Shelby, and Levi; her boyfriend Evan Howard and his family, Stephanie and Adam; her cat Fatters; and her giant group of friends who became like family to her.

Kayla grew up in Sachse and Garland, Texas.  She attended Luna Elementary School, where it became apparent the kind of person she would become.  Kayla then attended Webb Middle School where she would make lifelong friends. Webb Middle School is where her love for theatre began, and this love for theatre would help drive Kayla to become the amazing person we all know and love.

Her high school years proved transformative as she attended Naaman Forest High School. Her love for theatre branched off into a love for choir, dance, and drill team.  She was able to bring her theatre, drill team, and choir families into one big family where every single person could feel loved and wanted.  This is the incredible impact that Kayla had on every single person she met.  Kayla graduated with more awards and recognitions than anyone could possibly imagine, including over $60,000 awarded in scholarships.

After high school, Kayla went to the University of Texas at Dallas where she would make an immediate impact in her classes.  Even though she was there for a only a few weeks, her teachers had already grown to love her.  Kayla had dreams of becoming an actress, but then found her true calling of becoming a theatre teacher.  She wanted to make a positive impact on as many people as she could, giving them a place to feel safe and belong as her High school Drama teacher, Mrs. Godwin, had done for her.
