Brooklyn Nicole Moran

Brooklyn was born in Plano, Texas on June 23, 2009, to proud parents David and Brittney Moran. She tragically passed away and went to be home with the Lord on September 10, 2022. She was an avid soccer player who went by the nickname "Mighty", because despite her small stature, she had the biggest heart on the teams she played with, and never had any issue putting in the extra effort or going the extra mile for her team. She gained the interest of several colleges due to her incredible talent, including but not limited to, Baylor and Harvard University. She was accepted into the Olympic Development Program due to her immense talents. Her dream was to play Soccer for Florida State, and the Women's National Team, as well as Pro Soccer in Europe. In addition to soccer, she was an A Honor Roll and All Honors Student; she did softball, basketball, track, cheer, and dance. She had a passion for athletics, and it showed heavily in her daily accolades.  She was involved with her Church's Youth Group, and was Baptized in Christ at a young age with her father, David Moran; one of his proudest moments with his beloved daughter. She was incredibly ambitious, and had goals of being an accountant after she concluded her Pro Soccer Career, and dreamed of being a CFO of a major corporation. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her, and her family will forever be inspired by her drive at such a young age.

Brooklyn is survived by her loving parents, David and Brittney Moran, of Garland TX; brother, Preston Langle, of Rowlett TX; brother, Gavin Moran, of Sulphur Springs TX; and her sister, Aubri Moran, of Garland TX;  grandmother, Cindy Simmons, of Rowlett, TX; grandparents, Rob and Nancy Terpstra; of Anna, TX, Great Grandfather, Billy Chapman of Rowlett, TX, Great Great Uncle, Ray Chapman of Dallas, TX; Great Aunts and Uncles Rick and Kelli Terpstra of Allen, TX; Ryan Terpstra, of Spencer, IA; Renae Terpstra of Garland, TX; Will and Paula Martin of Crandall, TX; Billy Chapman of Fate, TX, Aunts and Uncles Tim and Susie Moore of Garland, TX, Carlette and Jimmy Dean Wilkinson of Skiatook, OK; Jimmy Davis of Allen, TX, Patrick and Julie McKeown of Murphy TX; Nicole and Bracy Lott of Forney; TX, Tiffaney and John Carmody of Aubrey, TX; Kristin Terpstra of Rowlett, TX; Allyson Terpstra of Fate, TX, and many very loved cousins.

MIGHTY:

Brooklyn, better known as Mighty Mouse, was an incredible soccer athlete that I have had the honor and privilege to coach through the years. Mighty and I started our journey together about 7 years ago and I have got to know her not only as a player, but as the amazing girl that's light and energy was contagious to everyone around.

Years ago, when my Dad and I first gave Brooklyn her nickname, Mighty Mouse, we had no idea that she would build a legacy with it. Brooklyn was tiny in size, but played "mighty" like the biggest kid on the pitch. I honestly, don't ever recall calling her Brooklyn. She took to the name Mighty Mouse from day 1 and would light a big smile any time I would yell it across the field. She loved her teammates and would be the first one to pick them up when they were down. She truly cared for family, friends and teammates and would show that daily. Anyone that was lucky enough to know her would truly understand how Mighty's heart, charisma and compassion was one of a kind.

I once read a quote by an unknown author that said, "What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose, for all that we loved deeply becomes part of us." You, Mighty, have become part of me and I will forever hold on to the moments we created together.

Always brought her fun, bubbly and joyful personality to games and practices, along with her super high intensity and love of the game. Mighty had a "sweet" &"intelligent" left foot, skillful with a great strike.

She was a great friend and teammate both on and off the field, she will be sorely missed by all. Her joy and spirit will forever remain in our hearts.

Mighty was special in so many ways. She had a personality that would brighten up anyones day and a skill set that would leave anyones mouth dropped when you saw her on the field. She was a great friend and athlete and someone who gained the respect from everyone in the community. Mighty was exactly what her name was, she was "Mighty"

There are not enough words to explain the Mighty I've known. The energy, determination, hard work ethic and positive attitude are just a few. She wanted to be the best. It only took one practice with my daughter, Ellen and I to give her the nickname, "Mighty Mouse." She was always the hardest worker and worked from the bottom up to be the best and play with the best. Mighty will always be my captain in Heaven. Love you, Mighty Mouse.

Mighty

Mighty was a player that every coach wants to have on his or hers team. She played and trained with a grit that could not be matched by anyone. Ask Mighty to run, she would say how fast, jump she would say how high. Might was truly a fierce competitor, great player, and incredible teammate.  She is everything that models a Dallas Texan player and ODP player, and every player wanted to play and for MIGHTY!!!  You will always have a special place in so many people's lives. Thank you for making me a better coach.
