Obituary

Wanda Sue Beerwinkle, 100, of Dallas, Texas passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026 at home.  A viewing will take place at Williams Funeral Directors on April 3, 2026 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Sue was born on February 27, 1926 in Waco, Texas.  She attended Baylor University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics.  After marrying Milton A. Beerwinkle, she had three children, Marshall, Patti and Lynn.  She was both an Officer's wife and homemaker for 79 years.  During her years in Dallas, she obtained her Real Estate License and worked for several years with Clements Realtors. She was a devout Christian and attended church her entire life.

She was a wonderful cook for her family and a loyal Army wife. During their time in the military, the family lived and traveled to many interesting places.  They truly enjoyed their time overseas. She lived in Hawaii from 1955 to 1958, San Fransisco Bay Area from 1958 to 1961, Chicago Area from 1962 to 1965, Okinawa, Japan for 1965 to 1968. While in in the Far East, she was able to visit Tokyo, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Thailand.

Sue enjoyed reading her Bible, gardening, Ikebana, and visiting with close friends.

After Marshall's wife Kathy died, when his daughter Kendall was two years old, she became Kendall's second mother.

She was known for her kindness, good humor, positive attitude, and excellent cooking.

She is predeceased by her Father Bob Smith, Mother Lois Smith, and Husband COL (Ret.) Milton Beerwinkle.

She is survived by her son Marshall, daughters Patti and Lynn, granddaughter Kendall and Kendall's husband Chris Austin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Methodist Children's Home (in Waco- of which she supported for many years) and Doodle Dandy Rescue Texas.

The graveside service will be held in Moody, Texas at Moody-Leon Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m. on April 10, 202 6.
