Virginia Alice
"June" James
Jun 27, 1935 — Aug 13, 2024
Virginia Alice "June" James (née Keeter), aged 89, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2024, in Dallas, Texas. Born on June 27, 1935, in Turkey, Arkansas, she was a beacon of love and care throughout her life.
June graduated from Yellville High School and dedicated her life to her family and numerous personal passions. She was a gifted homemaker, an adept seamstress, crafter, and quilter, who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. June was an ardent reader of the Bible and enjoyed her time shopping, walking on the treadmill, and staying informed through her favorite news outlet.
She was a devout member of Lavon Drive Baptist Church of Garland and Temple Baptist Church of Flower Mound. Alongside her husband, Bill, she was actively involved in various aspects of ministry, contributing greatly to her community.
June leaves behind a loving family: her son John and his wife Carrie, her daughter Joy Pastrano and her husband Peter, her cherished seven grandchildren Jonathan, Parker, Jessica, Colby, Cooper, Reagan, and JR, as well as her two great-grandchildren Riley and Bennett. She joins in peace her late parents, Gip and Alice Keeter, her beloved husband of 66 years, Bill James, her sisters Aletha Raether, Irene Burleson, Sybil Roark, Gay Partridge, Mary Alice Dameron, her brother AG Keeter, and her daughter, Jo Beth Sanders.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at the Wylie Cemetery on Saturday, August 24 at 11:00 AM. Williams Funeral Home of Garland, Texas, is overseeing the arrangements.
In memory of June, instead of flowers, contributions may be made to T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care. Her legacy of kindness, devotion, and faith will continue to live on through her family and all who knew her.
