Maria Teresa Zapata

(April 25, 1942 - December 30, 2023)

Teresa Zapata, 81,passed away December 30, 2023. She is survived by her daughter, Annoth Schnitzer; son, Mike Zapata and his wife Mandy; grandchildren, John Calvin, Joshua, Jordan, Cattleya; great granddaughter Brianna; and many close family and friends. Teresa was predeceased by her husband Miguel and son John Fredy. Teresa was an excellent seamstress and would often make her children clothing when they were young. If asked for help, she would be there. Her smile was contagious. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren. Teresa loved the ocean and would visit frequently. Stronger than she gave herself credit for, she took care of her husband through Alzheimer's for almost three years. She loved to play bingo with her husband and friends. Road trips were her favorite. She took care of her daughter's mentality disabled son so she could learn how to take care of him. She was loved and respected by many and will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held at Williams Funeral Directors on Wednesday, January 3, 2023, from 5-8P.M., with Rosary services at 7 P.M. Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, January 4, 2023 at 10 A.M. at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Immediately following, she will be laid to rest at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rowlett, Texas.
