Suzanne S. Holt, adoring wife, loving mother, doting grandmother, and caring sister, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 24, 2023 at the age of 70.
Suzanne was born February 4, 1953 in Fort Worth, TX to parents Joseph and Patricia "Patsy" Starns. She graduated Quinlan High School as the Salutatorian of her class and went on to attend East Texas State University. In June 1973, she married the love of her life, David R. Holt, and they were just shy of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Her dreams came true when she became a mother to daughter, Stephanie, and son, Patrick and then again when she became a grandmother to four beautiful grandchildren. As a devoted wife and mother, she lived her life raising children (and not just her own) at 800 Rex Lane in Garland where she has lived with husband, David, for 48 years. Suzanne was an avid collector and loved taking care of and decorating her home. She loved Jesus, Snoopy, Elvis, shopping, margaritas, dolls, and each and every holiday. She also loved animals and has loved and lost many dear pets over the years. She was a
very kind, caring and generous woman who always put family first. She always had a gift to give, a card to send, or a smile to share. As a daughter, sister and friend, she was thoughtful, committed and loyal. Although the last few years of her life were difficult, she was a strong woman who faced every challenge with courage and dignity. As a woman of undying faith, Suzanne was a light and inspiration to so many, and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched. She will forever be in our hearts and never be forgotten.
She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Starns, her mother, Patsy "GG" Trost, her grandparents, Mack and Lila "Nana" Pegues, and Milton and Edith "Mimi" Starns, and her Aunt Amaleta Starns Osborne. She is survived by her loving husband, David, of Garland; her daughter Stephanie Moore and husband, Michael of Rockwall; her son Patrick Holt and wife, Natalie of Frisco; her 4 grandchildren Carter and Grace Moore, and Charlotte and Oliver Holt; her sisters, Judy Hodges of Garland, and Lila Slovacek-Conner and husband Terry of Rowlett and sister-in-law Gayle Hardi and husband, Gary of Mesquite; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at Williams Funeral Home in Garland, TX on March 4, 2023 at 2:30 pm. Reception immediately to follow the service in the Bluebonnet Hall.
In lieu of flowers, to honor Suzanne, please make a donation to ASPCA.org, WorldVision.org, or any charity that supports children or animals. She had a big heart for both and would want to help them in any way possible.
