Stephen Henry Davidson

Stephen H. Davidson, (88), of Garland, Texas, passed away Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

Stephen was born on March 9, 1936 in Quincy, Massachusetts, to Joseph F. Davidson and Ethel M. (Davies) Davidson.

He grew up in East Braintree, Massachusetts. There he loved to play with his brother and friends. His favorite things were playing baseball, swimming, playing board games with his mother, and playing with his dog, Brownie. He graduated from Braintree Highschool and joined the Air Force at the age of 18 becoming a Radarman at Duncanville, Texas. He was saved and baptized at a Baptist Church while based in Duncanville. While there, he met the love of his life, Ruby Trammell in 1954 in downtown Dallas while exiting a movie theater. He introduced himself to Ruby, her sister and a friend. They were married June 8, 1956 at Pleasant Drive Assembly of God Church in Dallas County. They had celebrated 68 years of marriage.

After his four years in the Air Force, he enlisted in the Coast Guard and was sent to Boston, Massachusetts where he was based for eight years. Ruby and their first-born child came from Texas to join him, and they had three more children while living in Quincy. He was aboard three different ships, the Castle Rock, Casco, and the Bibb. He enjoyed the different ports in different countries to which they travelled. He was transferred to California for shore duty, so he and family moved there for one year and he did not re-enlist and was honorably discharged after serving fourteen years in the Military. He and his family moved back to Texas, and he worked for a time with the Post Office, ran shoe stores and, also a tobacco shop.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Ethel (Davies) Davidson; and one brother, Joseph Norman Davidson.

Stephen is survived by his wife, Ruby, two sons; Mark Davidson, Keith Davidson, two daughters; Sheryl Terrell and her husband Scott, and Gayle Eades and her husband Scott. Also survived by four grandchildren; Rachel (Ramsey) Shortridge and husband Jerry, Matthew Ramsey and Carissa Katz, Jessica (Davidson) Silva and husband Roberto, and Eric Davidson, and ten great grandchildren.

Stephen was an honorable man and will be truly missed and loved always.
