Shirley Eileen Piper Brand

Shirley Brand was born on October 29, 1938 in Floris, Iowa. She went to be with the Lord September 12, 2024 in Garland Texas after a long battle with cancer. She passed peacefully with her loving family at her side. She was 85 years old.

Shirley grew up in Fremont, Iowa where her parents owned and operated a general store throughout her younger childhood. She met Donald Brand when they were in the 5th grade and started dating in high school. Right after high school, they were married in Fremont Iowa at Fremont Baptist Church on December 23, 1956. They had four children, Kelly, David, Amber and Robert.

She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Virginia Piper, Her three sisters Beverley, Mary Jo and Mary June. She is survived by her husband Don Brand, and her children Kelly (Stephen) Barnes of Chiefland, Florida, David (Robin) Brand of Corpus Christi, Texas, Amber (David) Lippert of Garland, Texas, Robbie (Stephanie) Brand of Rockwall, Texas, 9 grandchildren Michael, Alan, Jenny, Gina, David Jr., Joshua, Ashley, Meagan and Rachel, and thirteen great grandchildren.

She worked many jobs throughout her life including, a secretary, Tupperware consultant, Jo-Ann fabrics and a bookkeeper at Sunbelt warehouse. She loved to entertain and play card games. She loved to do crafts like knitting and quilting. She was a member of the Daughters of the Nile.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Williams Funeral Directors at 1600 S Garland Ave in Garland Texas on October 5, 2024. Visitation is at 12:00 and the service will be held at 1:00.
