Obituary

Sara Darlene "Sally" Deming Allen of Garland, Tx. went home to be with her Lord and Savior on September 18, 2023 after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease.

Sally was born on January 18, 1938 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Gerry and Delores Deming. The family moved to Clovis, New Mexico when Sally was a senior in high school and graduated there. She married her college sweetheart, Michael D. Allen on June 24, 1960 after they met while attending Abilene Christian College. At the time of Mike's death, they had celebrated 61 years of marriage together.

Sally was a school teacher during the years she helped support Mike through dental and orthodontic school, then became a mother and homemaker, happily helping Mike build his orthodontic practice and growing their family in Garland, Tx. Sally was always very involved in the women's activities in her church, involved in her children's school activities, as well as community involvement. She was extremely passionate about helping and serving others with her beautiful gift of hospitality. She never turned down an opportunity to host a party or shower in her home in order to bless another. She was always active in her church home. Sally's love for the Lord was evident in all she did and the countless lives she touched. Her selfless love and generosity knew no bounds.

Nothing in life gave her more joy than her children and precious grandchildren. She loved her grandsons immensely and always looked for opportunities to spend special time with each of them. She knew them and their hearts and they knew her and how much she adored each of them.

Sally was a loving and devoted wife, a beautiful example for her children and grandchildren and a loyal friend to all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter Julie and her husband Tommy Clemons; her son Mark Allen; her grandchildren, Michael Clemons, Tanner Clemons and wife Dani Clemons and great granddaughter Taytum Clemons, and Tucker Clemons.

Sally is preceded in death by her husband, Michael D. Allen, her parents, Gerry and Delores Deming and her brother, Jack Deming.

Sally's family would love to acknowledge and thank each and every lovely friend who cared for and loved her over these last years at the Christian Care Center. We are also very appreciative to Bella Hospice for their compassion and care at the end of her life.
