Sandra Ann Paul passed away after a courageous battle on Monday, August 3, 2026, at the age of 84. She was born on September 21, 1941, in Durant, Oklahoma, to her loving parents, Hazel Gentry Bunzel and T. A. Aven.

Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lydon Paul; her brother, David Bunzel; and her parents. She married her high school sweetheart, Lydon, in 1959, and together they raised two sons, Jeron and Lacy.

Sandra is survived by her two sons, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

After graduating from high school, Sandra attended beauty school and worked as a hairdresser for many years. She later worked at J.C. Penney and Master Hatters in Garland. She was deeply involved in her children’s school activities, serving as the Pee Wee football team mom, attending PTA meetings, and volunteering during Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Garland.

Sandra devoted much of her life to caring for others. She lovingly cared for her husband, Lydon, her mother, a neighbor, and later in life, her grandchildren. Her kindness, selflessness, and generous heart were evident in everything she did.

Sandra never met a stranger. She loved to visit with people, and if you happened to run into her at the grocery store, what should have been a quick trip often turned into an hour-long conversation. She also loved Dr Pepper and was always happy to offer one to anyone who stopped by for a visit.

Sandra will be remembered for her warm heart, her gift for conversation, and the love she poured into her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
