Obituary

Russell Briscoe King III left this earth for a heavenly home on April 29,2024 at the age of 64. He was a beacon of light and love to everyone he knew. One name couldn't hold his larger-than-life personality, he was known as Russell, Russ, Rusty and Brother. He was born to Bobbette and Briscoe King on January 14,1960 in Dallas Texas. He grew up in Mesquite and attended Baylor University, a committed fan of the Baylor Bears.

His love for entertaining others extended into his professional life where he spent many years in the movie industry. He managed, opened and audited many movie theatres over the years. In his last decade he pursued another of his interests, to protect and defend. He worked in security management with the highest level of security and weapons certifications a non-military or non-law enforcement individual could achieve. Russell's personal life was a tribute to joy. He never met anyone he didn't connect with and care about. If you met him in a long line, you left with a new friend. He was a devoted man of God. Serving as a Gideon, serving in church, and serving his neighbor. He walked his spiritual road with a fervent love for God and grace extended to all. His love for Jesus extended to his love for his family, and his family was big. A favorite cousin, nephew, uncle, sibling and in-law. He found the love of his life, Julie, 3 years ago and married her just 7 months ago. He was so excited to share that he now had 2 sons, a daughter in law and a grandbaby, Daisy. His family life fulfilled to overflowing.

Russell Briscoe King III is survived by his wife Julie, her sons Ben, Sam and his wife Kimberley, and granddaughter Daisy. His sister Kathryn and husband Alan Poynor. His sister Dottie and husband Tom Oswald. His adored nieces and nephews, Gretchen, Duke, Chip, Grace, David, Matt, and Kat and Gabriel (preceded in death), their spouses and great nieces. He would also want us to include all his cousins in this listing of family. Russell's legacy, adventures and love for all deserve a margarita toast, his favorite drink, so "Here's to you Russ for a life well lived"!
