Ruben ( "Grandpa") Navarro went to be with the Lord on October 13, 2020. He was born on October 9th, 1961 in Dallas, Texas to Leopoldo and Maria Navarro.

Ruben was a graduate of Sunset High School. He worked as a System Technician at Southwestern Bell for 18 years and at Alcatel USA for 3 years.

Ruben loved sports. He loved playing recreational soccer and volleyball. He coached Little League and P.O.N.Y. League baseball, and he passionately followed professional sports teams (especially the Texas Rangers, the Dallas Cowboys–"How 'bout them Cowboys?!"–and the Dallas Stars).

His greatest joy was serving the Lord in his prison ministry wherein he showed great zeal for faithfully discipling numerous men in their walk with Christ. He had a great love for Jesus, his family, and his Christian brothers, sisters and Kairos ministry.

He is survived by his wife Cindy; children Ruben, Amanda, Nick, and Katie; step-children Victoria and Stephen Gaines; grandchildren Brianna, Jeremiah, Elena, Mikaela, and Toby; and siblings Laura (Gary McGowan), Ana (Jaime Gonzalez), Maria Gregoria (Bob Hutchins), Leopoldo Paul (Lisa Lozada), Maria (Rafael Rodriguez), Gerardo (Simona Pereyda), Aurora (Mark Poeschel), Elizabeth (Mark Reber), Rosina (Mike Gonzalez), Alicia (Joe Sandoval), Francisco, Claudia (Gabriel Mattos), Marguerite (Gilbert Godina).
