In Loving Memory of Ronnie Jo Luke
Ronnie Luke, age 78, of Plano, passed away on February 12, 2025, after being diagnosed with lung cancer and choosing to live life to the fullest without treatment. Ronnie was hardworking but also the life of the party. He was a captivating storyteller, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Born on September 8, 1946, in Wichita Falls, Ronnie was the youngest son of Margarette and Delmar Luke. From a young age, his spirit and drive created a life filled with purpose and meaningful relationships. For over 60 years, Ronnie poured his heart and soul into his Air Conditioning business, gaining the respect of colleagues and clients alike. His dedication and skill drove him to success, earning a well-deserved retirement in August 2024.
In 1966, Ronnie began the most rewarding journey of his life when he married his beloved wife, Carol. They grew up together and built a love and partnership to last a lifetime. Together they created a beautiful family. Ronnie was the proud father of two daughters, Ann and Debbie, who were a source of pride and joy. He instilled in them a deep appreciation for hard work and perseverance.
Ronnie had a passion for the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, and traveling the world. He was an avid golfer and loved everything from scuba diving to snow skiing. He was larger than life and a high roller at the craps table. Post-retirement, Ronnie and Carol made a few last memories traveling to Destin, New Orleans, Nashville, Niagara Falls, and Philadelphia.
As a long-time Mason and Master Mason, he supported children's programs including the Rainbow Girls, Scottish Rite for Children, and the local public library.
Preceded in death by his parents and eldest brother, Delmar, Ronnie is survived by his siblings—Katie, Billy, J.D., and Delmar Lee.
Ronnie took great delight in his role as father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He leaves behind his children—Ann and Micheal Darby, Debra and Philip Claytor; his grandchildren—Madison Sennett, Shelby and Christopher Sheehy, Makenzie and Justin Chesak, Luke Chadwick, and Trent Darby; his great-grandchildren—Leighton, Colt, Cooper, and Parker. His laughter, wisdom, and generous spirit will forever echo in their hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held in remembrance of Ronnie at Canyon Creek Country Club in Richardson on March 8, from 11 AM to 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to make donations in his Honor/Memory to Scottish Rite for Children. Scottish Rite Donations
