Bob was born in Denton, Texas to Sarah Oma Frair and Hugh Brandon. He peacefully died at home.  He is proceeded in death by his parents, Hugh and Oma Brandon and our son "Bobby" Robert Hugh Brandon III.  Survived by his wife of 60 years, Lynda Brandon, his daughter, Vanessa Gwynne Stone, son-in-law Gary Stone, granddaughter, Skye Vivienne Stone, his sister Carole Kerby and brother-in-law Mike Kerby, in addition to many cousins and dear friends.

Bob is a Vietnam War Veteran.  After graduating Denton High School in 1959, he served in the Army.  Afterwards, he attended to Southern Methodist University in Dallas and graduated with a Business degree.  Bob worked for Atlantic Richfield Oil Company (ARCO) for 26 years as an Executive Director.  He won many awards while at ARCO.  He also worked with Sprint for 5 years and also won many awards as an Executive Director.

Bob was a member of New World United Methodist Church in Garland, TX for 52 years.  He used his great sense of adventure, as a very active leader in the Boy Scouts, with his son, Bobby, for 15 years.  He took a group of Boy Scouts from New World UMC to Philmont, and he served as District Commissioner for the Grey Owl District.

As an active member in his community and politics, he was appointed to the Texas Board of Commissioner in 1996 by the Governors Office Appointment Division.  He was also a member of the City of Garland Housing Standard Board.  He was Founder and President of The Coalition for a Better South Garland and also served on the Garland Library Advisory Board for four years and served as Secretary for four years.

Bob had so many interests and loved to travel, from camping in the woods with his Airstream, to high style city adventures and cruises.  He was an avid Texas Rangers fan and was elated when they won the World series.  He very much enjoyed being a member of the Dallas Athletic Club for many years.  He loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He absolutely loved his family, but his granddaughter, Skye Vivienne, was the apple of his eye. He adored her and said, "Being a Grandfather is the best thing yet!".
