Robert Wayne Arthur, 83, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026, at his home in Rowlett, Texas, surrounded in love by his family.

Known affectionately as Bob, Bobby Wayne, Daddio or Papa, he lived a remarkable and deeply meaningful life. In his early adult years, Bob proudly served his country as an Army veteran during the Vietnam War. He later pursued his passion for music as an accomplished bass player and member of the band Mother Earth. His musical journey took him around the world, where he had the extraordinary opportunity to perform with legendary musicians, including Jimi Hendrix, Chuck Berry, and Boz Scaggs amongst many others.

In his later years, Bob found joy in the simple and lasting things that mattered most to him: spending time with his friends and family, riding motorcycles, and continuing to deepen his spiritual life. He had a gift for making the people around him feel valued and important.

Bob will be remembered for his witty one-liners, endless wisdom, generous spirit, and his special way of making each person feel truly seen and celebrated. He had a presence that stayed with you long after a conversation ended.

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Diane Arthur; his three children, Sarah Holcomb and her husband Jesse, Ben Arthur, Jonah Arthur and his wife Susie; his sister, Diana Lynn Pope and her husband Michael; his four grandchildren, Ray, Ari, Jackson, and Adeline, and his step-grandchildren Jake and Haley. He also leaves behind several beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and lifelong friends who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Bob leaves behind a lifetime of stories, music, laughter, wisdom, and love. His family and friends will carry his memory forward, grateful for the privilege of having known him and deeply aware of how much he will be missed.
