Richard Nelsen Lovett of Garland, Texas was born on July 26, 1941 and passed away peacefully on March 18, 2025. He was 83 years old. He was a veteran of the US Navy, was an auto racing enthusiast, had a flair for the written word, was a world traveler, appreciated the craftsmanship of firearms, and enjoyed live theatre. He especially loved spending time with friends and family.  He is survived and missed by his children: J. Landon Lovett, Lisa N. Lovett, and Joel G. Lovett; by his grand children: Jennifer Thompson, Graham Lovett, Delsin Lovett, Gregory Brashear, and Garner Brashear; and by his great-grand children: Mack Thompson, and Lila Thompson. He was preceded in death by his son, Russell E. Lovett.
