In Loving Memory of Richard Lee Freisner
Richard Lee Freisner, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and cherished friend, passed
away peacefully on September 10, 2023. He was born on June 20, 1947, in Kansas, and he spent
the majority of his rich and meaningful life in the beautiful state of Texas.
Richard was preceded in death by his loving parents, Lee Freisner and Evelyn Long Freisner, his
dear brothers Lee and David Freisner, and his beloved daughter, Monica Rankin.
He is survived by his devoted spouse of five decades, Katherine Dianne Freisner, who stood by
his side through thick and thin. He leaves behind his loving son, Robert Daniel "Danny" Freisner,
and wife, Kimberly. He was also a proud father-in-law to Caleb Rankin, and his heart overflowed
with love for his three adoring grandchildren, Preston, Peyton, and Evy.
Richard's memory will be cherished by his four sisters: Sandra McKenzie, Linda Peeples, Patricia
Szerlong, and Debra Jackson, in addition to beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins who shared
many cherished moments and memories with him.
Richard had a deep passion for fishing, finding peace and serenity by the water's edge. His love
for fishing was surpassed only by the love he had for his family and friends. He had a unique
ability to bring joy and laughter to every gathering, creating lasting memories that will be
treasured forever.
A memorial service to celebrate Richard's life will be held at Williams Funeral Directors in
Garland, Texas, on September 15, 2023, at 1:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to come
together to remember the life of a man who touched their hearts in so many ways.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice
in Richard's honor, a fitting tribute to a man who loved his family, friends, and community.
Richard's legacy of love, laughter, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all those
who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever
remain in our cherished memories.
