Perry Phagan Gresham, 82 years young, passed away late Christmas night after declining health.
Perry was born September 11th, 1940 to Robert (Roe) and Margaret Gresham in Dallas,Texas. He graduated from Crozier Tech High School in 1960.
Perry spent a short stent in the US Army before meeting and marrying Nancy Norman. They went on to have two girls, Heather and Brooke. He was very involved in raising his girls. He loved coaching their softball teams and attended every game he could; softball, basketball, soccer, etc. He was also a long time member of the Fraternal Order Of Masons. He was a stickler about making sure his girls learned the rules of the road while they were learning to drive.
Perry started his career with the Dallas County Sheriff's Office in 1972 in the jail. He worked his way thru patrol, communication, print shop, and intake. He promoted to Lieutenant in 1993. He spent his last years of service flying around the country bringing fugitives back to the area. He was able to arrange his transport schedule so that he could be in Tacoma when his first grandchild was born.
Perry retired from the sheriff's office after 31 years of service. He promptly moved to Cedar Creek Lake to enjoy his retirement years with his dogs.
He was preceded in death by his parents Roe and Margaret, brother James. He is survived by sister Thelma Taylor, daughters Heather (Jim) and Brooke (Ralph), and grandchildren Olive, Gann, Kennedy and Peyton.
