Obituary

Peggy Jean Henger, just one week shy of her 85th birthday, passed away peacefully in Dallas.

Peggy was a strong, intelligent woman whose life was defined by her deep love for her children, her many dogs and cats that were always part of her home and her involvement in the local Democratic party. Known for her resilience, warmth, and sharp mind, she created a sense of comfort and possibility for everyone around her. Peggy taught 2nd and 5th fifth grades at A.R. Davis and Beaver Elementary Schools in Garland. She worked as an Executive Assistant at Ram Jack Foundation Repair Company for over 15 years, and as an Administrative Assistant at Dougherty Sprague Enterprises Inc. before retiring.  Her many hobbies included volunteering, scrapbooking, puzzling and playing games. She cherished the time spent at the Lazy D Ranch with her family of several generations.

She is preceded in death by her husband Rex and survived by her three children—Kerry, Ray, and Carol—and her four cherished grandchildren: Nathan, Bailey, Amelia, and Claire. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, December 14th at 12:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Garland.

Peggy's legacy lives on in the family she loved so fiercely and in the countless moments of joy and laughter she brought into the world. She will be deeply missed! The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please donate to the National Wildlife Federation at https://www.nwf.org
