Obituary

Patsy Gene Blunt September 18, 1937 – November 14, 2025

Patsy Gene Blunt, of Garland, TX, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 14, after a long and courageous battle with Dementia with family by her side. Patsy was born in Cumby, TX in 1937, and she moved to Garland TX when she married Bill Blunt in 1957. Bill and Patsy both grew up in Cumby and were married for sixty-eight years, they have two children and five grandchildren.

Bill and Patsy owned a local jewelry store in Garland, Classic Jewelry, for close to forty-five years. Patsy, was affectionally known as Nana and she was a strong Christian woman who was kind, caring, loving, generous, and funny. Her amazing Christian integrity contributed to her love of strangers, friends, and mostly her family. Nana only knew how to love big and was the anchor of her family. Nana was known for hosting parties with her church friends and family. All holidays were a time for Nana to celebrate, especially Christmas. Nana would be up all-night cooking for twenty-thirty people for Christmas and she never complained, because having her family at her home during the holiday was her greatest desire. When Nana and Papa decorated for Christmas, it always looked like a Hallmark special. Nana loved Southern Gospel music, and she loved playing her favorite songs on the piano and attending concerts.

Nana's greatest pride and joy were her kids and grandkids. Nana's love for her grandkids had no boundaries and she would drop whatever she was doing if one of them needed her at any time. Patsy Blunt is the epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman, she was the ideal wife, mom, and Nana. Nana, your family loves and cherishes you, we will miss you terribly. We are eternally grateful that the Lord chose you to be the anchor to our family and we thank you for providing a Christ centered home. Until we see you in Heaven, we love you!

Patsy is preceded in death by her mother and father, Murphy Bowden and Ona McNeely Bowden, her brother Morris Bowden and sister-in-law Ruth Bowden, and sister Freddie Bowden Marlar.  Survived by her husband, Billy Brown Blunt, son Greg Blunt and daughter-in-law Lisa Blunt, daughter Kelley Dixon, and grandchildren Bryce Blunt, Bailee Blunt, Drake Dixon, Dylan Dixon, and Hannah Dixon.

Memorial service will be 10:30AM Saturday, November 29, 2025 at Williams Memorial Chapel with a reception to follow.
