Obituary

Patrick (Pat) Joseph Keane went to be with the Lord on May 21, 2025 at the age of 65 after a brave fight with ALS. Pat was born March 5th 1960 to Jacqueline and Robert Keane in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was the eldest of four children. The family moved to Garland, Tx in 1965 and the family home remained there. While in Garland he attended South Garland High School and graduated third in his class. He played the saxophone in the South Garland band and worked at Safeway. He received a scholarship to attend Baylor University in Waco and was always appreciative of the education he received there.  He was in the Baylor Bears marching band. He loved the band community and playing his sax.  He was a proud Alumni, and always sporting his BU apparel t-shirts, sweatshirts, jackets and ball caps.  He was a huge supporter of Baylor Football, had season tickets to all the football games.  He generously shared with friends and family, taking family to home games when he was in town.  While in college he did a summer internship with Texas Instruments. After graduation he was offered a job with IBM. Worked for IBM for 43 years. He worked his way up to manager and always seemed to enjoy his career and co-workers. In 1995 he decided to transfer to IBM in Raleigh, NC. There he put in deep roots and started attending Edenton Street United Methodist Church. Pat served in the church and went on many mission trips all over the world, and would always have stories to tell us when he came home to visit. His family was still in Texas but his heart and new family were in Raleigh. He loved Raleigh and his church family so much he decided to be interred at Edenton's columbarium. His was preceded in death by his father and niece. He is survived by his mother, brother, sisters and their husbands. He is also survived by three nieces, three nephews and two great nephews. A memorial service will be held at Williams Funeral home of Garland on June 7th at 10:30am. An additional service will be held in Raleigh, NC with date still to be determined.

Patrick loved Christian missions and serving on mission trip teams that went all over the world. Instead of flowers a charitable gift can be made to any of Pat's favorite outreach church teams. We have listed below where he joyfully gave to prosper humankind with the love and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus.
