Obituary

P atricia Lynne Morrow Swaithes, 62, of Garland, passed away on July 16, 2023, with her family
by her side.

Born on December 12, 1960 to Larry Mac Morrow and Judith Blake (née Morrow) in Dallas,
TX, Patty grew up in Mesquite, TX, where she attended Tosch Elementary, McDonald Middle
School, and North Mesquite High School, making countless friends during those school days.
In high school, she started work at Flowers by Cheryl in Mesquite, where she put her creative
talents to use at the flower shop that was so special to her. She helped with weddings and event
planning, skills which would continue to serve her well all her life. She was always the go-to
party planner for any family event, knowing exactly how to make something out of nothing and
somehow make it all look easy. Even after starting a full-time job years later, she continued to
help with events at the flower shop.

In 1982, Patty met Michael in the singles department at South Garland Baptist Church, where
Patty was baptized that year. Following two years of dating and engagement, they were married
on July 14, 1984 at South Garland Baptist Church. After years working in the accounting and
bookkeeping world for various companies, she and Michael started their own business,
RenovateOne, in 2018. In business as in their household, Patty was the glue that held things
together, handling financial and administrative duties.

In 1990, Patty and Michael had their first daughter, Lindsey, and then two years later welcomed
Alicia as well. Patty was a gentle, attentive, patient, and loving mother to both their daughters,
and even after they grew up and began their adult lives, they would talk every day, often multiple
times a day. And when she became a Nana, her grandchildren Andrew (Age 6) and Katherine
(age 3) became the lights of her life—she was never too busy to drop everything so they could
come over.

To her family, friends, neighbors, and strangers alike, Patty was a beacon of kindness, always
quick to welcome people and meet needs, sometimes needs that you didn't even know you had.
You would be hard-pressed to remember a time she said an unkind word about anyone, even
when one was deserved. With faithfulness and intention, Patty understood and obeyed God's
greatest commandment—she loved the Lord and she loved people.

Patty was predeceased by her father, Larry Mac Morrow, and sisters-in-law Merrick Swaithes
and Meegan Swaithes. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Michael Swaithes, daughter
Lindsey Camp (husband Daniel), daughter Alicia Swaithes, and grandchildren Andrew and
Katherine Camp. Patty is also survived by her mother, Judy Campion Blake (husband Marlin),
her brother, Larry Morrow (wife Kathi), sister Cathy Dawson (husband Scott), father-in-law
Gene Swaithes and mother-in-law Koleda Swaithes, sister-in-law Quendy Sweeney (husband
Brad), as well as numerous other family members and close friends.
