Orville Charles Ungerer of Dallas, Texas passed away peacefully on November 5th, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on October 17th, 1937, he was a proud graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School in 1956 where he participated in ROTC and developed a love of learning.

Orville had a successful career as an engineer and was committed to excellence in his profession. He was a loving husband, dad, and Papa, cherished by his family and friends for his wisdom, kindness, and humor.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Janie; his daughter, Cathy Patton, and son-in-law Gregory Patton; granddaughters Holly Packer and her husband Collin; Heather Fielder and her husband Lance; Morgan Nolan and her husband Matt; and grandson Scott Patton and his wife Kelly. He was a loving Papa to his great grandchildren Maddox, Addison, Brooklyn, Cason, Hadley, Knox, and Charlie. Orville is also survived by his sister Barbara Cavalier and many other loving relatives.

Orville was preceded in death by his father, Charles Dunbar Ungerer, his mother, Opal Irene Ungerer, and his son, Charles "Chuck" David Ungerer.

Visitation with be on Sunday, 11/10/24 at Williams Funeral Directors in Garland. A memorial service will be held on 11/11/24 at Williams Funeral Directors,  followed by a graveside service at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas. A reception will be held after the services at the home of Cathy and Greg Patton.

Orville's legacy of love and generosity will live on in the hearts of all those who knew him, and he will be deeply missed. Donations may be made to "Toys for Tots" in hopes all children find the joy of the Christmas spirit.
