Oda Melvin "Mel" Thornton, 95, of Garland Texas passed away on October 11 ^th 2022. Caring father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Survived by his loving wife Utha Jean Thornton married for 76 years, daughter Connie Wilson and son Edward Thornton.  He is also survived by his three sisters, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  WWII Army veteran. Member of the Northlake Baptist Church.  Contributor to the greatest generation.  His pleasant personality was contagious to everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  A celebration of life memorial will be held Saturday 29 ^th of October at the Northlake Baptist Church at 11am.
