Obituary

Norma Zuniga Chavez "Chona" 36 departed this life to be with Jesus our Lord December 4, 2023 in Denton, Texas.

She was born December 5, 1986 in Mexico City Mexico to Carlos Zuniga and Maria Basilisa Yepez. She was raised in Mexico City, and moved to Dallas Texas when she was 16 years old where she lived the rest of her life.

She is preceded by death by her father Carlos Zuniga, grandparents and many others.

In May of 2005 she met Leo Chavez, the love of her life, got married and had children.

Chona dedicated her life to being a wife, a homemaker and raising her children.  She delighted in making them her priorities. When at home she thoroughly enjoyed preparing traditional meals such as birria, pozole, flautas and many other meals but will for sure be remembered by her creative Jello desserts. She enjoyed exercising, decorating and singing karaoke.

She is survived and leaves to cherish her memory her husband Leo Chavez, her children son Alejandro, daughter Alexis, son Eliseo; brother Mario and his wife Carmen and children Brenda and Jose; brother Carlos and wife Maggie and children Adriana, Jonathan and Andrew; brother Gabriel wife and children; mother Maria B. Yepez; aunt Conce and husband Milton and children Brenely, Jesus, and Itzalem; uncle Leonardo and wife America; mother-in-law Ruth Chavez and family.

We are thankful to The Lord for allowing us an opportunity to get to know, live with, love and enjoy her company.

Chona will be remembered not only for being a great wife, loving mother, confidant and friend, but for impacting each of our lives in a very special way.

Truly a beloved woman.
