Neva Jo Payton

November 30, 1935 – June 29, 2026

Neva Jo Payton, 90, passed peacefully from this life on June 29, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family and the assurance of her faith. Her life was a beautiful testimony of love, service, and unwavering devotion to God and those she held dear.

Born on November 30, 1935, Neva grew up in Rowlett, Texas, then she attended Garland High School. She later pursued her passion for beauty by attending cosmetology school and became a talented hairdresser, a profession she enjoyed for many years. Her gift for making others feel beautiful was matched only by her kindness and genuine interest in the lives of those who sat in her chair.

Above all else, Neva cherished her family. As a devoted homemaker, she created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aromas of home-cooked meals. She had a remarkable talent for sewing and quilting, lovingly crafting keepsakes that will continue to wrap her family in memories for generations to come. Whether preparing a favorite meal, stitching a handmade quilt, or simply spending time together, she found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved.

Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She treasured every moment spent with them, celebrating their milestones, sharing stories, and creating lasting memories that they will carry in their hearts forever.

Neva was a devoted Christian whose faith was the foundation of her life. She loved the Lord deeply and was well-versed in Scripture, finding wisdom, strength, and peace in God's Word. She and her husband of 50 years, Gerald Payton, lived thier faith with humility, compassion, and grace, always ready to encourage others with a kind word or a verse from the Bible. Her joyful spirit and infectious laughter brightened every room she entered, and her sense of humor brought smiles to countless faces throughout her life.

Neva’s legacy is one of faith, unconditional love, generosity, and perseverance. She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her example, her wisdom, her laughter, and the countless ways she demonstrated Christ's love through everyday acts of kindness.

Though her earthly journey has ended, her family finds comfort in the promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ, knowing that she has been welcomed into her heavenly home with the words, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant."

Neva will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her love, faith, and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
