Obituary

KNEALE, Nancy Joyce of Rowlett, Texas, age 84, passed away peacefully early Saturday morning, June 8, 2024, at her home. Over the past few years, Nancy experienced many health challenges, which led to her passing.

Nancy was born in Flint, Michigan on February 8, 1940, the daughter of Genevieve V. Greco and Paul H. Ostrander. Nancy worked and lived in Flint Michigan for most of her adult life, attending Flint Northern High School and then going on to work for General Motors - where she was employed for 33 years (1962-1995). Nancy married Earle Kneale in 1996 — as they jetted off to Las Vegas and tied the knot. Attending the marriage in Vegas was Sally and Dick Smith and Sharon and Fran Durish. In 1999, Nancy and Earle moved to Rowlett, Texas to be closer to her beloved sister, Sally Joan Smith.

Surviving Nancy is her husband, Earle Kneale (married for 28 years), her daughter, Sherry Douglas, grandson, Edson Douglas, his fiancé, Candace Sanchez, and their son, Edson Scott Douglas II. Also surviving Nancy is her great granddaughters, Arianna Douglas & Arabella Foust.

Nancy also leaves behind her many nephews and nieces — Randy Whaley, Tim Whaley, Susan Whaley, Filomena Whaley & Theresa Whaley. She also leaves behind her step daughter, Tanya Hopkins, great nieces & nephews - Jimmy Sherouse, Ashley Whaley, Bella Whaley, Dustin Kneale, Lane Hopkins and Faith Hopkins.

Last but not least are the many great friends Nancy enjoyed throughout her life. Some of which include, Sharon Durish (and her late husband Fran), Tony and Gayla Delgado, Mary Yaklin, Beatrice Sanchez, Bob Beris, Larry McDonald, Jerry Macullough, Deborah Carr, Bob & Marleen Morrish, Beverly Woodard, Elaine Staudt and Janet Swenson.

Nancy & Earle loved their place at leisure Lake in Michigan. Together, they spent many happy weekends on the lake — sitting on the patio, feeding the ducks, pontooning, and holding BBQ's with friends. In her later years, Nancy enjoyed the simple things life offers — like watching the humming birds and rabbits on her back patio, enjoying a fireball or two (her favorite adult beverage) ...and talking on the phone with old friends and family. Nancy also loved her many great grandchildren. They were the pride and joy of her life. And who can forget her love for shopping. Sally (her sister) used to say that Nancy could shop all day if you let her. They were "two-peas-in-a-pod". I am sure they are sitting in heaven right now having a Lorna Dune cookie (with their coffee) and sharing a good laugh — reminiscing about all the good times.
