Mildred "May" Felty-Evarts, 94, went home to be with her Savior on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, near Garland, Texas.
May was born in May 6,1929 near Watertown, S. Dakota. The daughter of William Peter and Mildred Lodema (Widman) Heidecker, she was a high school graduate, and her BS degree in education Northwestern Bible College in St. Paul MN. May went to Japan as a missionary and met Stephen Henry Felty, serving in the Air Force.
In 1955, they were united in marriage .They served The Lord in the Caribbean for many years. Together they founded Berean Christian Academy in St. George's, Grenada in 1972. May was a loving wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, sister and aunt. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. She enjoyed her family, was a hard worker, and loved her Lord and to serve Him. Over the years she had lived in Minnesota, Japan, South Dakota, Barbados, St. George's, Grenada, Dominica, and Garland TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands: Stephen Felty and later William Evarts; her daughter Patricia Ann Fisher on April 1, 2007; brothers: John Heidecker, Robert "Bob" Heidecker and William "Bill" Heidecker; her sisters: Mary Prins and Annie Angrimson. May is survived by her daughters: Susan Felty Mains (Reuben)of St. Paul's Grenada, and Shar Felty Goodale (Harlan) of Garland, Texas; her sister Nellie (Chuck) Martin; her grandchildren Stephen Mains(Karen), Asher Mains, Courtney Kruse,(Dave), Benjamin Fisher,(Elizabeth), Charity Raconcay (Daniel), William Goodale,(Kristen), Joseph Goodale,(Emily),and great-grandchildren, Solomon, Josiah, Calvin, and Noah Kruse. Nora, Olivia, and Phoenix Fisher. Asher, Sophia, and Judah Raconcay. Stephen and Kristianne Mains, and Henry Goodale. Many more relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life Services for May will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, February 3, 2023, at the Williams Funeral Home in Garland, Texas. Friends may call an hour prior to the services. The burial will be in the Garland Memorial Cemetery.
