Mary Beth Tyler

Mary Beth Tyler was born July 18th, 1943 at her Aunt Clara's house in Garland, Texas to parents
Arvel and Rebecca Ross. She was the fourth of six children. As a young girl, she often enjoyed
walking down the road to go visit her grannie. She loved the Lord and got saved at an early
age.

Mary Beth attended Rockwall High School, where she played volleyball and basketball. She also later attended business school.
She married Larry Coyle in 1962 and together had son Gary. They later divorced.
She then married Joe H. Tyler, Jr. in 1970 and together had daughter Amy. They lived in
Garland until 1974, and then moved to Lewisville, Texas. They moved back to Garland in 1978,
because Lewisville was too far away, and she wanted to be closer to her family that lived in
Rowlett and Garland.

After business school, Mary Beth worked at THAN Data Processing from 1963 to 1980, as a Key
Punch Operator and Data Entry Supervisor. She made lifelong friends there. The "THAN Girls"
would continue to meet for lunch many years after they stopped working together.
She then worked at Dallas Title Company from 1980 to 1989, as a Data Recovery Computer
Operator. She made many friends there. She and some of the ladies she worked with started a
cookie exchange, which still meets every year and she had recently gathered with some of
those friends.

Mary Beth became a grandmother in 1990 to granddaughter Alexis.
From 1990 to 2008, she worked for American Title Company, first in Customer Service and then
as an Order Processor. When the company moved from Mesquite to Arlington, in 2006, she
started a vanpool. She and some of her coworkers rented a Dart Van. She was the captain
and drove herself and her coworkers, including Amy, from Garland to Arlington 5 days a week.
She also helped several family members get jobs in the title business.
For many years she also sold Avon on the side.

She served as Secretary/Treasurer and later President of the Cottonwood Cemetery
Foundation. Mary Beth worked hard to make sure that the cemetery stayed clean and beautiful for her
loved ones who were buried there. She made sure that the grass was mowed, and that fallen
limbs and debris were quickly removed.

She enjoyed going family camping trips to Lake of the Pines with her sister's family. Later, she
enjoyed spending time with family and friends that she had met at Lake Bob Sandlin, at her lake
house.

To say that she was a take charge kind of person, is an understatement. If Mary Beth saw something
that needed to be done, she took care of it. She didn't wait to see if someone else was going to,
she just did it. Her larger-than-life personality helped serve her well in the many responsibilities
that she took on. She stayed busy her entire life, even after retiring.
She was a devoted caregiver. She took care of many of her family members at one time or another.

She took good care of her children, siblings, nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her parents when they became elderly. She became a second mom to niece Lanie, after her mom passed away.

She would bring food to coworkers and family members who had surgery or had been ill. Whatever anyone needed, she would do it for them. She would even bring Halloween costumes for coworkers who didn't have one, because she loved Halloween.She loved to do research on the internet on her iPhone. If you had a medical condition, she would research it and give you more information and advice about it than the doctor.

Mary Beth is preceded in death by her mother Rebecca, father Arvel, sister Ann and
brother Pat. Mary Beth is survived by her husband Joe Tyler, son Gary Coyle, daughter in law Linda
Coyle, daughter Amy Johnston, son in law Jerry Johnston, niece Lanie Williams.
brothers Rodney Ross, Richard Ross, and Dean Ross. Granddaughter Alexis Jones
and son in law James Jones. As well as her Great Grandchildren Sydney Coyle, Kash
Jones, Madelyne Jones, Adain Jones, Tensley Jones, Tristian Jones.
She will be greatly missed by all of those who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be 5pm – 7pm Thursday January 4th at Williams Funeral Home. 1600 S
Garland Ave, Garland Tx 75040.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday January 5th at Williams Funeral Home with
the Dr. John Carl of Northlake Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Rest land.
Arrangements are by Williams Funeral Home.
Honoring her last walk, James Jones, Nathan Williams, Brian Williams, Matt Williams, Micheal
Bortz and Joe Metcalf.
