Mary Lancaster

1931 - 2025

Mary Ruth Stephens Lancaster, 93, of Garland went to be with the Lord on March 29,
2025. She was born in Paris, Texas on July 19, 1931.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., with the funeral service set to follow at 10:00 a.m. Monday, April
7, at Williams Memorial Chapel in Garland, Texas. Interment follows at 2 p.m. in
Evergreen Cemetery in Paris, Texas.

As a young woman, she worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell.  Later,
when her children were in school, she worked in the food service department for the
Garland Independent School District where she retired.  She loved flowers and enjoyed
being in her garden. She also loved animals and throughout the years had many beloved
pets. In later years she enjoyed reading People Magazine, working crossword puzzles,
and watching TV. Her greatest joy was gathering with family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Cecil; granddaughter, Alexis
Rae Lancaster; parents, H.R. and Dovie Stephens; and brother, James Stephens.
She is survived by her sister, Martha Stephens of Reno; children; daughters, Teresa and
husband, Phil Morris of Garland; Linda and husband, Steve Young of Garland; son,
Stephen Scott Lancaster and wife, Kristi of Quinlan; granddaughter, Stephanie Brooke
and husband, Robert and great grandson, Ryan Nero of Prosper; and granddaughter,
Lindsey and husband, Kyler Fink of Corsicana.
