Mary Beth Sowell Murdoch, born in Dallas, TX, to Billy and Shirley Sowell, passed away on September 21, 2024. Growing up in the Lake Highlands area, Beth graduated from Lake Highlands High School, where she met her beloved husband, Michael Murdoch.

Beth attended Texas Tech University, actively participating in the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority and earning her Bachelor of Science in Education. Her passion for teaching led her to educate elementary school students in both Richardson and Garland ISDs.

Above all, Beth cherished her role as a mother, considering the raising of her three children—Cameron, Taylor, and Elizabeth—her greatest accomplishment.

Beth was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, children, and four cherished grandchildren: Stratton, Ezekiel, Annalise, and Evangeline Murdoch. Beth is also survived by her brothers, James and Thomas Sowell.

Memorial service will be 10:30am Monday, September 30, 2024 at Williams Memorial Chapel.
