Mary "Maruska" Elizabeth Ondracek Estes

April 30, 1928 – June 20, 2023

Mary "Maruska" Elizabeth Ondracek Estes was a natural beauty of Czech descent, born into a farming family in Matagorda County on the Texas coast, raised two children, pursued a career path with The Hartford Insurance for over 30 years, and wore her gardening gloves with passion and grace. She was lovingly and devotedly cared for in her late years by her daughter Cynthia Pierce of Dallas, Texas. She is survived by her dear brother Milton Ondracek of Montgomery, Texas, nieces Shirley, Candice Gay, Debbie, and Juanita, and nephew Milton, Jr.  Mary has been restored, made whole and is reunited with her son Jerry Wayne Estes, parents Anton and Vlasta Ondracek, and siblings Ella, Anton, and Rose. She lived a life with moxie, determination and great resolve; and a celebrated, well-lived life it truly was. Many thanks to the staff at Chattington Manor, and Holding Hands Hospice who gave comfort and care beyond the call of duty.
