Obituary

Everett, Mary Jane C.

Mary Jane Everett passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024.

Born to Thomas and Gwendolyn Sheedy in Massillon, Ohio on August 22, 1933.

Graduated from Central Catholic High School in Canton, Ohio in 1951, where Mary Jane was Football Queen.

She attended Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio, was a member of Tri Delta Sorority, and met the love of her life, Charles R. Everett (Charlie). They married in Columbus, Ohio in 1956. They moved to Galveston, Tx in 1958 where her husband served his residency and fellowship in Internal Medicine at University of Texas Medical Branch. During their stay in Galveston, they made many lifelong friends and were blessed with the births of their first two children, Barbara and Bob. They moved to Garland in 1962, along with many of their friends from Galveston. They had their 3rd child, Catherine, a year later. The Everett family had many memorable vacations, including annual trips to Galveston.

Mary Jane was very active at St. Patrick Catholic Church and was a member of the St. Cecilia Altar Society. She made sure their children were educated in the Catholic faith. She and Charlie were avid tennis players, which kept them in shape through their later years. Mary Jane enjoyed reading, gardening, walking, and loved chocolate.

Mary Jane is survived by three children: Barbara Everett Janicki and husband Mark; Robert Charles Everett and wife Terri; Catherine Everett Jackson and husband Jonny; grandsons: Charlie Janicki, Andrew Janicki, M.D., William Janicki, and Richard Janicki.

We would especially like to thank Carmella Scott, Tanishu Monae Ross, Angel Hands Hospice and the staff at The Reserve for their care and support.
