Martha Fay
Dehart King
Jul 8, 1940 — Jul 3, 2025
Indianapolis
Martha Fay DeHart King, age 84, passed away on July 3, 2025. She was born on July 8, 1940, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the beloved daughter of Thomas and Dorothy DeHart. Martha was raised alongside her siblings—two older brothers, Thomas and Jack, and a younger brother, David. As a young adult, she moved to Texas with her brother Tommy. While he eventually returned to Indiana, Martha chose to make Texas her home. It was there that she met her husband, Jerry King, and began building a life rooted in faith, family, and friendship. Martha dedicated 30 years of her professional life to IBM, where she built a successful career before retiring. Her commitment, intelligence, and work ethic were evident to all who knew her. Above all else, Martha was the heart and soul of her family and the most amazing grandmother. She is survived by her children Cheryl (Aaron) Persons, Stacey (Jonathan) Sanderson, and Kyle (Monika) King; her brother Jack DeHart; and her seven cherished grandchildren: Andrew Leask, Austin Trouy, Katie Trouy, Brock Persons, Emma King, Hanna King, and Ryan Trouy. Her love for her family was constant, unconditional, and deeply felt by every generation. Martha was also blessed with a close and beloved group of friends with whom she shared countless memories—playing cards, volunteering, laughing together, and enjoying her favorite Mexican meals. These friendships brought her great joy and companionship throughout her life. Creativity flowed naturally through Martha. She was a talented artist who loved to paint and draw, and she was also a wonderful cook who took pride in nourishing others. Her strong faith guided her life, and those who knew her best would say that Martha embodied love in its purest form—kind, gentle, welcoming, and unwavering. Martha Fay DeHart King leaves behind a legacy of faith, devotion, creativity, and love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives she touched.
