In Loving Memory of Marlo Lancaster Cooper

With profound love and heartfelt sorrow, we celebrate the life of Marlo Lancaster Cooper, who was born in the state of Arkansas to Robert Lee Lancaster and LaDonn Brown. Marlo departed this life on July 2, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family, leaving behind a legacy of compassion, faith, and service.

On May 27, 2000, she united in Holy Matrimony to Shedrick Cooper. To this union two children were born, Diamond and Deja Cooper, who were the pride and joy of her life. Marlo was a devoted wife and a loving mother. Her family was the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Dedicated to the nursing profession, Marlo devoted her life to caring for others and educating future generations of healthcare professionals. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Arkansas and Master’s Degree from Baylor University, reflecting her commitment to academic excellence and lifelong learning. Her passion for teaching and mentoring inspired countless students and colleagues throughout her distinguished career.

Marlo also proudly served her country in the United States Army for 6 years, demonstrating the same courage, dedication, and selfless service that she carried into every aspect of her life.

She was a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, where she embraced the organization’s ideals of sisterhood, scholarship, service, and social action. Through her involvement, she continued to uplift and empower those around her.

Outside of her professional accomplishments, Marlo had a vibrant spirit. She loved traveling and creating unforgettable memories with those she loved. She was an avid fan of Janet Jackson, whose music brought her joy throughout the years.

Above all, Marlo loved God. Her unwavering Christian faith guided her life, shaped her character, and was evident in the kindness, grace, and generosity she extended to everyone she met. She lived as an example of compassion, humility, and steadfast devotion to the Lord.

Marlo’s beautiful spirit, infectious smile, and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. Though she is no longer with us in body, her legacy of faith, service, and unconditional love will continue to inspire generations to come.

She leaves to cherish her memory: a loving husband of 26 years, Shedrick Cooper; two daughters, Diamond and Deja Cooper of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Geoffrey (Karla) Lancaster; bonus daughters, Lakessa Cooper, Shedquette Cooper, and Kiana Cooper of Dallas, Texas; bonus son, Zeodrick; one grandson, Zion Cooper of Dallas, Texas; two sisters-in-laws, Valerie (Bobby) Pinson and LaKenisha Cooper; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ethel Roberson and Willard Roberson; one brother-in-law, Mynoris Woods; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and coworkers.
