In Loving Memory of
Marilyn June Devlin Kelley
1953-2026
On September 4th, 1953, Marilyn Kelly was born to William and Mary Devlin in Reno, Nevada. She spent her early girlhood in Hollywood, Florida. Her education began at Little Flower Catholic School, Broward High School, finishing at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana.
As a young woman, she relocated to Maryland, Montana, & throughout Texas; eventually settling and raising her family in the DFW area with her loving husband Jeffery Kelley.
Jeffery and Marilyn's story began in snowy Bozeman. Where a young love blossomed then, led to wedding bells in August 1980 in Garland, Texas. 47 years of union and companionship is a testament to the love they shared for life, family and one other.
From them both, a beautiful, blended family came to be, consisting of Malinda & William Hendrix, and later, Michael Kelley.
Tenderness and appreciation was a lesson learned by Marilyn, from her early career as a hospital nurse aide and being home health care specialist, helping to start McKinney Medical's program. Patient care touched her deeply, with former patients reflecting on her generous yet gentle care, warm spirit & personality.
She later served as a VP's assistant in the claims department of an aviation insurance company, where the human tragedies she encountered often deeply affected her, revealing the depth of her compassion. She went on to expand her corporate career at Electronic Data Systems, working as a VP's Executive Assistant in the Medical Services Division. There, she became acquainted with Ross Perot and enjoyed seeing him in the employee cafeteria. Like him, she shared a strong belief in the value of human life and genuine care for others.
Marilyn had a heart and walk in Christ throughout her life, and she joined his open arms on March 17th, 2026; at 72 years of age.
A loving wife, mother, daughter, daughter-in-law, grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, niece & friend to many. Marilyn loved people and always was befriended by them easily.
She is survived and will be deeply missed by husband, Jeffery Lynn Kelley; son, Michael Lynn Kelley and Whitney Stare-Kelley, and daughter Malinda Hendrix, Grandchildren include Christian, Malcolm, Montana, Darrell and Aaron. And siblings include sister Michelle Miller, stepsister "Cookie" Cawfield, nieces Madison Joan Kelley, Dawn Eichman-Lambert and nephew John Eichman.
She was preceded in death by her son William "Billy" Darrell Hendrix, and parents William & Mary Devlin; her stepmother Virginia Cawfield, Sister Patricia Lemieux & husband Bob, brothers Billy and Bobby Devlin, Jeff's parents Floyd and Betty Kelley and brother in-law Jared Kelley
