Sofia went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 6, 2025 at age 89. Sofia was born May 25, 1936 in San Ramon de Los Martinez, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. She emigrated to the United States in the early 1950's. She accepted Jesus Christ as her savior in the mid 1960's.

In addition to being a dedicated and loving mother, she also served in various church capacities over 55 years.  Churches in Harlingen, Plano, Allen, McKinney, Rosenberg, Ft Worth and Arlington were blessed by her service.  She loved the Lord and loved sharing the love and warmth of our savior, Jesus Christ, with as many people as possible. Her unwavering faith, love, and boundless generosity leave a legacy that will endure for generations

Her passion and primary ministry was a mission based in her hometown of San Ramon. She dedicated much of her adult life in helping provide spiritual leadership and material assistance such as clothing and supplies to the mission.  She loved the children of San Ramon and they in turn loved her.

Sofia is survived by her daughter, Nicolasa Garza (Javier), and sons Ernesto Ramirez, Marco Antonio Negron,; sister: Elidia Torres, Hortencia Quinones, Acacia Buenrostro and Petra Magana. Sofia also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Sofia was preceded in death by her daughter Rosa Maria Vasquez, father Prisciliano Torres and mother Gabriela Garcia; her brothers Eduardo Torres, Jose Torres and Julio Torres; sisters, Altagracia Torres, Josefina Roque and Santiaga Torres.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the "San Ramon VBS Children's Fund".  Funds will be administered by Pastor Luis Gonzalez.
