Margaret Gaynelle (Sampson) Wood, born on August 13, 1930, in Merit, Texas, went to meet her Savior face to face on December 15, 2025, in Garland, Texas. To many who loved her dearly, she was simply known as "Mom."
Margaret married the love of her life, Bobbie Joe Wood, on June 21, 1947. Together they shared 64 years of marriage and built a loving family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was marked by unwavering faith and genuine love for others.
Margaret was known by all who knew her as a faithful and godly Christian. She served the Lord for many years as a children's Sunday School and Bible Club teacher, joyfully sharing the Word of God with young hearts. To know Margaret was to love her, and she loved everyone she met with the love of Jesus.
Her greatest desire was for those around her to know the Lord. Margaret lived a life of humility and sincere faith that naturally drew others closer to Christ. She shared her faith often and was blessed with the joy of leading many people to Christ throughout her lifetime.
Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bobbie Joe Wood; her parents, Iris Clayton Sampson and Ada Iola (Hockett) Sampson; her sister, Anita (Sampson) Rogers; and her brothers, Billy Clayton Sampson, Sonny Sampson, Von Ray Sampson, and Carroll Sampson.
She is survived by her sons, Bobby Wood and wife Brenda, and Danny Wood; her daughter, Diana Medina and husband Juan; her grandchildren, Jeremie Wood, Jennifer Wood, Jonathan Wood, Melissa Heck, Amanda Creighton, Michael Logan,
John Medina; and her great-grandchildren, Micah Benavides, Tanner Wood, Ella Grace Wood, Tripp Creighton, Aiden Heck, Elijah Medina, Preslee Heck, Knox Creighton, Catalina Medina, Isabella Medina, Graysen Gamez, August Logan, Remy Logan, and Johnny Medina.
Margaret's life was a testament to faith, love, and service. Though she will be deeply missed, her family and friends rejoice in knowing she is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior, whom she faithfully served.
