Obituary

Margaret "Rita" White Richeson, age 90, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026. Born on April 23, 1936, in Liverpool, England, Rita was the beloved daughter of Margaret and Bernard White. It was in Liverpool where Rita met the love of her life, James "Jim" Richeson. The two were united in marriage on August 7, 1954, beginning a devoted partnership that would span decades and inspire all who knew them.

In 1962, Rita and Jim followed their entrepreneurial spirit and opened Garland Camera & Repair in Ridgewood Shopping Centre. Through dedication and passion, they built a trusted business that later relocated to Saturn Road and Northwest Highway, serving their community faithfully until its sale in 2016. Rita's warmth and commitment left a lasting impression on customers and friends alike.

Rita had a love for golf and cherished the many years she spent on the course. She and her husband Jim were members of Eastern Hills Country Club for 60 years, where they created countless treasured memories. Rita also enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii and back to England, sharing her love of golf and companionship with friends around the world.

In addition to her love of golf, Rita—fondly known as the "Bingo Queen"—found great joy in playing bingo, where her lively spirit and sense of fun were always on full display. She was also a devoted member of Monica Park Christian Church, where her faith and fellowship were an important and cherished part of her life.

Rita was preceded in death by her beloved husband Jim; her brothers, Lawrence, Bernard, Edward, and George; and her sisters, Lily and Maisie. She is survived by her loving family: her son, Kent Richeson; daughter, Michelle Ship Richeson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Brookdale Club Hill for the exceptional care, kindness, and comfort they provided Rita during her final days.

Rita's life was one of devotion, warmth, and joyful connection. She leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
