Obituary

Linda Kay Todd, age 76, born in Texas City, TX on July 12, 1948, to Rachel Friesner Todd and Johnny Todd. She was the second of five children and the oldest girl.

A 1966 graduate of Tascosa High School in Amarillo, TX; she was one of an elite choir member of Bill Cormack. She played the violin, then the viola in elementary and middle school.

An avid football fan in high school, she continued to love the game and supported the Dallas Cowboys until she passed away. She worked a retail job in and out of high school for several years, but finally found a rewarding job working at a small dental lab for almost 20 years in Amarillo, before moving to Dallas.

She attended Amarillo Jr. College hoping to teach elementary school but had to drop out. Linda found a passion researching family genealogy with the help of our Aunt Phyllis Friesner. She later moved to Dallas with her mother; but found a new career working for Southern Gas Association for over 30 years before COVID forced a retirement. Her family was everything to her until she passed away with family present as often as possible.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents; her mother; her father; her youngest sister, Carol Todd Mathis; oldest brother, John Hargis. She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Todd Sampley; brother, Thomas Todd; nephews, Courtney Todd, Skyler Todd, Chad Sampley, Mark Sampley, Brandon Todd Mathis; niece, Pamela Sampley Madrinan, and so many great nieces and nephews.
