Laurie Ann Goggan Wharton passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, in Dallas, Texas, where she had resided for most of her life. She attended Southern Methodist University, where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi sorority.

Laurie worked for many years as a secretary for General Motors, from which she retired. She was a member of Lovers Lane United Methodist Church, a member of many lineage societies, and a lifetime member of the Dallas Genealogical Society.

She was predeceased in death by her beloved husband, Horace Wharton, with whom she enjoyed fishing, canning/preserving, and spending time with friends and their cherished dogs. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin F. and Ida Oppelt Goggan, her brother, James C. Goggan, and her sister-in-law, Marilyn Warren Goggan.

Laurie is survived by many nieces and nephews who will dearly miss her wit, knowledge, and wisdom. No services are planned.
