LaNita West, born on December 3, 1958, in Garland, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on November 1, 2025, in Rockwall, Texas. She was 66 years old.

LaNita was the beloved daughter of Mary Dickens and the late Douglas Dickens. She grew up in Texas and built a life rooted in dedication to her family and her work. During her many years in administrative roles within a telecommunications company, LaNita was admired for her reliability and dedication, and cherished for her sweet spirit and the kindness she showed to everyone she worked with.

Outside of work, LaNita found joy in spending time with her family and friends. She had a creative spirit and enjoyed crafting and sewing—pastimes that brought beauty into her life and the lives of those around her.

She is lovingly remembered by her mother, Mary Dickens; her brother, Gene "Rusty" Dickens; her son, Jeff West and his wife Jessica; her daughter, Nikki Krum and her husband Matthew; and her granddaughter Grace West. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

LaNita was preceded in death by her husband, Larry West, and her father, Douglas Dickens.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held on November 6, 2025, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at Williams Funeral Home 1600 S Garland Ave in Garland. A small graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Sachse.
