Kenneth was born March 10, 1963, in San Antonio, Texas to John Michael and Catherine Louise Merle. He departed this life on June 23, 2024, at age 61.

He married his wife, Janie Hoffman Merle on March 19, 1995, in Rockwall, Texas. They lived in Royse City, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Janie; sister, Patti Weatherred; brothers James Sampson (Mary), Michael Merle (Debbie), and James Merle, mother-in-law MaryAnn Hoffman; sisters-in-law Carole Merle, Kathleen Smiley (George), Nancy Rowe (Jason), Carole Gardner (Mike) along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents John and Catherine Merle, brothers Bert Merle and Darryl Merle.

Kenny was a kind, intelligent and funny person and also a loyal friend that could be counted on. He had a strong moral compass and always tried to do the right thing because of his deep faith in God. He was also an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys rooting for them year in and year out and Blues-Rock music and he performed in several local bands playing the bass guitar. Kenny also loved animals and had many dogs, horses, cats, goats, and parrots throughout his life.

Kenny grew up in Garland, Texas where he graduated from Garland High School in 1981. After high school Kenny met the love of his life, Janie, on April Fool's day 1992. He worked for 30 years in loss prevention for Neiman-Marcus, becoming Director of the Southwest Region..

Kenny was loved by many and will be sorely missed by all of his family and friends because of the way he lived his life.
