Julio Balmore Gonzalez, 60, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on April 4, 2026. Born on March 8, 1966, Julio was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a pillar of strength and guidance, known for his unwavering love, protective nature, and selfless spirit. Julio embodied the roles of provider, handyman, and protector, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him. He was truly a role model to many.
Julio spent most of his career as a skilled mechanic, where he took pride in his work and demonstrated his sharp attention to detail and natural problem-solving abilities. Outside of work, he found joy in fishing, music, and soccer. He especially cherished watching sports with his sons, grilling for his family, and engaging in his signature light-hearted smack talk during games—moments that brought laughter and lasting memories to those around him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Eluvia Castillo Gonzalez; his children, Jose Gonzalez (Endiadys), Rosaura Gonzalez Dockery (Daniel), Vivian Castillo (Di'louis Major), Edgar Castillo (Jenny), and Sergio Castillo (Carolina Lucero); his cherished grandchildren, Ryu Daniel, Michael Emanuel, Noah Balmore, Genesis, Musa, Manazzeh, Cecilia Elaine, Edgar Antonio, and Sergio Daniel; and his siblings, Delia, Fredis, and Silvia Gonzalez.
Julio was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa Hilda Gonzalez and Jose Felix Gonzalez, as well as his grandparents, Maria De La Paz Marquez and Emanuel Gonzalez.
A service to celebrate Julio's life will be held at Williams Funeral Directors, 1600 S Garland Ave, Garland, Texas, on Friday, April 10, 2026, at 1:30 p.m.
