Obituary

Julia Ann Goodman Macon was born December 10, 1963, in Garland, Texas to parents Freeman Lynn Goodman and Laquetta Ann Stutts Goodman. She was an only child.

Julia went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 10, 2022. She passed away at San Remo Assisted Living Facility in Richardson, Texas of complications caused by pancreatic cancer. She was 58 years old at the time of her death.

Julia married her high school sweetheart, William Scott Macon on September 8, 1984, at Orchard Hills Baptist Church where she was a member at the time. Julia and Scotty were blessed with two children, Christopher Scott Macon, and Courtney Brooke Macon. Courtney blessed Julia with two grandchildren: a granddaughter Paisley Grace Eulberg, and a grandson, Kayden Scott Macon-DeLong.

Julia worked in the banking industry from 1983-2004 at Richardson Credit Union, later named Community Credit Union and then Viewpoint Bank. She worked in the Executive Offices during her time there. After 20+ years of service in the banking industry she went to work at Oakhill Day School where her children went to daycare. She worked at the daycare as a teacher and eventually the Assistant Director until she left in October 2010. She left the daycare to stay at home so she could help with Courtney's FFA events and Christopher's soccer events. She dearly loved and valued the time she was able to spend helping them with and participating in their activities. She was then her husband Scotty's caretaker when he had a stroke in 2016 until his passing from a massive stroke in 2021.

Julia is survived by her mother, Laquetta Ann Goodman; son Christopher Scott Macon and his fiancé Kayla Deann Morrow; daughter, Courtney Brooke Macon, and her boyfriend Christian Shea DeLong; granddaughter, Paisley Grace Eulberg; grandson, Kayden Scott Macon-DeLong of Garland, and Kayla of Rockwall. She is also survived by her Aunt Sarah Goodman of Waynesboro, TN and Cousins Charles Glen Goodman Jr of Carrolton, TX and Anthony Wayne Goodman of Rockwall, TX.

Julia was strong in her faith and loved her church family and valued fellowship with them. She enjoyed conversations with church members and praying for family and friends. Her favorite Bible verse was John 3:16. Julia loved and valued time with family. Julia loved watching her kids in their activities throughout their school years whether it was sports, FFA, or anything else they were involved in. She loved taking pictures of her family members and friends. Her favorite hobby was scrapbooking, and she loved doing arts and crafts with her granddaughter Paisley Grace. She also loved spending time with her family and friends in the outdoors, especially while fishing!

She kept granddaughter Paisley Grace from birth in November 2018 until fall of 2021 when she became ill and no longer could keep her alone. Julia loved and valued the time she got to keep Paisley. Paisley brought her an immense joy during their time together.

Julia was blessed with numerous supportive friends including future daughter-in-law Kayla Morrow, Lori and Rex Porter, Zelma and Jerry Fry, Tammy and Michael Rogers, Christian DeLong all longtime friends and an amazing church family that loved, blessed, and prayed for her. She loved spending time with her family and friends whenever possible. She loved having her kids close and still at home at the time of her passing. They were a great support system to along with her, along with her mother, Laquetta.

Julia had a great love for animals also. She was an advocate for the humane society and pet adoption agencies. She will be missed by her current dogs Ruger, Rylie, and Sadie Rae and cats Fisher James, Hobbs, and Tuff.
