At a venerable 100 years young, Juana Evangelina Hernández, affectionately known as "Jenny" as well as "Mamu", a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, Tia, comadre, among many other titles, departed from this world, leaving behind a profound legacy of family-first values, boundless joy, and boundless love. On 16 de septiembre, Jenny passed surrounded by family and after personally visiting with each of her closest family members during her final weeks on earth.

Born on December 27, 1922, in Chihuahua, Mexico, Jenny lived a century filled with remarkable experiences and unwavering devotion to her loved ones. She was a beacon of love and a source of inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.  She was not just a witness to history; but her life was a testament to resilience and adaptability, as she navigated the challenges of different eras with grace and determination.  Above all, Jenny treasured her family.  Her unwavering commitment to family was the cornerstone of her life. She created a home filled with warmth, amazing food, laughter, and love, and her presence brought everyone together.

Jenny's passing leaves a void in our hearts, but her legacy will live on in the lives she touched as her teachings of love, joy, and family-first values will continue to guide us.  Jenny is survived by daughter Guillermina & son Eduardo [& Graciela], 3 granddaughters, Nancy Sandoval, Ivonne [and Junior] Acuña &  Laura Cristina [and Christopher] Carrasco, 11 great grandchildren, Aaron [and Rosemary], Jordan, Xavier, David, Angelina, Alexandra, Adriana, Briana, Andre, Carlos Eduardo, Elise and 2 great great grandchildren, Remy and Flor.  They will carry forward the torch of love and togetherness that she so beautifully lit and find solace in knowing that Jenny is now reunited with departed loved ones, such as her granddaughter Nelly, and that her spirit will continue to watch over us.  Jenny's legacy lives on in each of us, and we are forever grateful for the privilege of having her form such a large part of our lives.

Services will be held on Saturday, 10:15am (viewing & rosary) with her funeral mass starting at 1pm.  Both viewing and funeral rites will be held at Williams Funeral, 1600 S. Garland Ave. Garland, TX  75040.  In lieu of flowers, for those that wish/prefer, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Hospital, a saint that guided her faith in Christ and an organization that continuously gives to children..

A sus venerables 100 años de edad, partió de este mundo Juana Evangelina Hernández, conocida cariñosamente como "Jenny" y "Mamu", querida madre, abuela, bisabuela, tatarabuela, Tía, comadre, entre muchos otros, dejando detrás un profundo legado de valores que dan prioridad a la familia, alegría ilimitada y amor ilimitado. El 16 de septiembre, Jenny falleció rodeada de familiares y después de visitar personalmente con cada uno de sus familiares más cercanos durante sus últimas semanas en la tierra.

Nacida el 27 de diciembre de 1922, Jenny vivió un siglo lleno de experiencias extraordinarias y de una devoción inquebrantable hacia sus seres queridos. Ella fue un faro de amor y una fuente de inspiración para todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla. Ella no fue sólo un testigo de la historia; pero su vida fue un testimonio de resiliencia y adaptabilidad, mientras afronta los desafíos de diferentes épocas con gracia y determinación. Sobre todo,  Jenny valoraba a su familia. Su compromiso inquebrantable con la familia fue la piedra angular de su vida. Ella creó un hogar lleno de calidez, comida increíble, risas y amor, y su presencia unió a todos.

El fallecimiento de Jenny deja un vacío en nuestros corazones, pero su legado perdurará en las innumerables vidas que tocó mientras sus enseñanzas de amor, alegría y valores que dan prioridad a la familia continuarán inspirándose y guiándonos. A Jenny le sobreviven su hija Guillermina y su hijo Eduardo [y Graciela], 3 nietas, Nancy Sandoval, Ivonne [y Junior] Acuña y Laura Cristina [y Christopher] Carrasco, 11 bisnietos, Aaron [y Rosemary], Jordan, Xavier, David , Angelina, Alexandra, Adriana, Briana, Andre, Carlos Eduardo, Elise y 2 tataranietos, Remy y Flor. Llevarán adelante la antorcha del amor y la unión que ella encendió tan bellamente y encontrarán consuelo al saber que Jenny ahora se ha reunido con sus seres queridos que la adelantaron al cielo, como a su nieta Nelly,  y que su espíritu seguirá cuidándonos. El legado de Jenny sigue vivo en cada uno de nosotros y estaremos eternamente agradecidos por el privilegio de que ella formó una parte tan importante de nuestras vidas.

Los servicios se llevarán a cabo el sábado a las 10:15 a. m. (velo y rosario) y su misa fúnebre comenzará a la 1 p. m. Tanto el velorio como la misa fúnebre se llevarán a cabo en Williams Funeral, 1600 S. Garland Ave. Garland, TX 75040.   En lugar de flores, a los que prefieran, la familia solicita amablemente que se hagan donaciones al St. Jude's Hospital, un santo que guió su fe en Cristo. y una organización que continuamente da a los niños.
