Joshua Wesley Skipper passed away at the age of 37 in Dallas, TX on June 8, 2024. Josh is survived by his wife, Mayra Cantu; children Aryanna Isabel Villastrigo, Liam Wesley Skipper, and Lucas Alan Skipper; siblings, Heather Skipper-Thetford, Shelli Acker, Heather Randolph, Joseph & Stephanie Skipper, Jonathan & Jessica Cerrone, and Lance & Sara De Leon. Josh had 21 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Steven Leslie Skipper, and brother, Scott Alan Skipper.

Joshy was born on October 6, 1986, in Dallas, TX to Steve Skipper and Paula Thorn Skipper. As a young boy, he enjoyed skateboarding, football, fishing, soccer, and spending time with his friends and family. Joshua attended Poteet High School, playing varsity football and graduating in 2005. Josh enjoyed spending time with his grandfather watching him work, which is where he learned to weld. He continued welding after high school and this became his lifelong passion. He chased that dream, following his older brother Scott, by joining the Pipeliners Local Union 798 at the age of 18, became a welder's helper, and later attended welding school to become a certified welder. Josh had an incredible talent for welding and worked hard, always striving to be the best at his trade. Not only did he love the work of welding, but he loved traveling all over the United States with his pipeline family.

Josh had an infectious laugh and could make anyone smile with his goofy faces, silly selfies, and classic dance moves. He gave the best bear hugs and you could always count on him for a big squeeze when he walked through the door. Josh loved his family and his kids more than anything in the world. Anyone who met Josh would hear all about his kids, and his smile always beamed with pride when he spoke of them. He loved telling stories about his time traveling with Mayra, who oftentimes even worked as Josh's helper. He loved having her on the road with him.

Joshua Wesley knew that the only way to salvation was through a relationship with Jesus, and he gave his life to Christ in 2020. Josh was known by many as the person who showed up when they needed help, and he would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. Joshua is so loved and will be missed by many.
