Joseph "Joe" Del Monte, Jr., age 68, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, in Rowlett, Texas. Born on December 4, 1956, in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, Joe lived a life marked by dedication to his family, his work, and his passions.
At the heart of Joe's life was his family. He is survived by devoted wife Audrey Del Monte; son Tony Del Monte and fiancée Amber; daughter Jenn Hutten and husband Kim; and cherished grandchildren Theo, Aubree, and Liam. He also leaves behind sister Kathy Huhn and husband Ron; sister-in-law Petra Del Monte; and many extended family members who will miss him dearly. Joe is reunited in heaven with beloved son Steven; father Joe Sr.; mothers Joan and Renee; sister Debbie; brother Jeff; parents-in-law Fred and Grace Hotchkiss; and other dear members of his extended family.
Those who knew Joe will remember him for his silent but caring heart—a man who expressed love not always through words but through consistent action and presence. His loyalty to his wife, children, grandchildren, and extended family never wavered. He was a steady source of strength whose quiet compassion spoke volumes. Throughout his career, Joe was known as a hard worker and a true team player. He built strong relationships with his coworkers, many of whom became like family.
Outside of work, Joe found joy in many pursuits. He had a deep love for music—whether listening to his favorite tunes or attending concerts that brought him happiness. He enjoyed staying active with workouts accompanied by engaging podcasts and found freedom on the open road during motorcycle rides that lifted his spirit. He also appreciated the comfort of a good book and had a lifelong passion for computers. From tinkering to rebuilding systems from scratch, Joe's curiosity and technical skill were evident in everything he touched.
A Celebration of Life honoring Joe will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Williams Funeral Directors located at 1600 S Garland Avenue, Garland, Texas 75040. The service will begin at 10:30 AM followed by a reception hosted by the family.
