John
Roemen
Jan 24, 1965 — Jun 26, 2023
In Loving Memory of
John Roemen
John Raymond Roemen, a wonderful son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 26,
2023, at the age of 58.
He was born in Dallas on January 24, 1965 to Peggy and Bud Roemen. He graduated from Good
Shepherd Catholic School, Bishop Lynch High School, and the University of North Texas.
John grew up the only boy among four sisters, but was loved like a brother by so many. He spent more
than 30 years in the flooring industry as an account manager. He was a longtime resident of East Dallas,
where he made many lasting friendships.
Wherever John went, he was never alone. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere.
Countless friends and strangers gravitated to John's unassuming, genuine charisma, dry sense of humor
and deep, infectious laugh. He was a great listener, who remembered details of everyone's life and their
last conversation. John embraced the differences in the people in his world, choosing to be inquisitive,
rather than judgmental. He always took the high road and would do anything for anyone. John was
always there for people, and people wanted to be there for John.
From John's regular visits to his favorite East Dallas night spots to so many family birthdays, when
gatherings and parties took place, everyone wanted him there, asking "Is John coming?"
He will be greatly missed, but lovingly remembered by so many friends, customers, and family members
from across the country.
John is preceded in death by his parents and survived by his sisters Susan Merkel and husband Al; Lori
Baumann and husband John; Kathy Gordon and husband Charles; and Karen Polzer and husband Tim;
numerous nieces and nephews, Sigma Tau brothers, and many many friends.
